Margaret Macdonald made more than one of these panels, each slightly different. The original was incorporated above a fireplace in a private home at Lilybank Terrace, in Glasgow, while a duplicate was exhibited at Turin 1902 International Exhibition of Decorative Art in 'The Rose Boudoir' installation of the Mackintosh's, where the Glasgow Rose was brought to international attention in design. One of the original panels can be seen in the Board Room of the Glasgow School of Art, the architectural masterpiece of her husband.

These panels will be produced in a limited edition of 250.An artist in her own right, Margaret Macdonald, was responsible for many of the decorative panels and other features of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's interiors. They met while at Glasgow School of Art. Together with her sister Frances, and his friend Herbert MacNair, they became known as The Four, leaders in the Glasgow Style of Art Nouveau. Forecast Sculptures' panels, although inspired by the originals of Margaret Macdonald, are not replicas. To suit today's home environment, they have been reduced in size by up to 50%, therefore some detail has been simplified to keep the impression of the originals.
